Hearts of Gold and CETAP-Lucy are excited to announce the renewal of the Child Sponsorship program for the 2016-2017 school year. The program allows 25 children from impoverished families of Chilcapamba to attend CETAP-Lucy’s day program or after-school program. Last year you allowed children in great need receive daily individualized academic assistance and over 165 personal, family and group therapy sessions. Thanks to the services of CETAP-Lucy, 6 children have advanced out of the program in the 2016-2017 school year, which demonstrates its success in helping youth and their families move forward.

The CETAP-Lucy Child Sponsorship program allows children with personal challenges, learning disabilities, and physical disabilities to receive specialized academic assistance and individualized therapies in a welcoming, positive environment.

Academic sponsorship ($35 per month) supports a child’s early stimulation therapies, such as auditory, visual, occupational or speech therapy, to process the child’s personal challenges and learning disabilities, as well as specialized education assistance. Academic sponsorship for an older child supports the after-school program  provides specialized education assistance and tutoring for each student.

The therapy sponsorship ($25 per month) allows each child to receive individual psychological therapy, family therapy, and group therapy sessions which cover issues that the children have in common, such as the need for sexual education.

These children could not receive this loving support from CETAP-Lucy without the generosity of each sponsor. Are you interested in making a difference in the life of a child?

Students at CETAP-Lucy are still seeking assistance for the 2016-2017 school year. With your help, these children are given a window of opportunity to confront their unique challenges and become educated, independent Ecuadorians.
